City trip in New York

Everyone who knows me a little bit, knows that orientation is not immediately my best feature. But let’s say New York has just found the solution for my problem…the grid system ... All “streets” run from west to east, all "avenues" from north to south. Manhattan is divided into three parts: Downtown, Midtown and Uptown. Downtown starts south of Union Square, Midtown runs from the north of Union Square to 59th Street and Uptown is all above this southern limit of Central Park. The Great Apple also has a super easy metro system, Just in case you do find yourself lost...

Staying in New York easily gets very expensive, so early bookings are crucial! You might want to stay at least five nights if you really want to be able to discover the city. In New York you can pay everything with a credit card, from a coffee to your hotel, so you don't have to change money in advance.

Moving throughout the city can be done on foot, by bike, by metro, Uber or with a world-famous yellow taxi.

My tips:

✶ Walk on the highline above the city

✶ Go watch a movie in Bryant Park (summertime)

✶ Stroll through Central Park

✶ Guggenheim Museum

✶ An evening of ballet at the David H. Koch Theater

✶ Visit Time Square

✶If you have time, take a boat to Governors Island, you have a beautiful view of the New York skyline here.

My favorite places to eat:

✶ Gang Wolfgang's Steakhouse

✶ Nobu: Japanese cuisine

✶ Katz Delicatessen

✶ Grab lunch at Chelsea Market

✶ Lombardis: the oldest pizzeria in the city

✶ Visit one of the many outdoor street markets such as the Queens International night market

✶ The Meatball Shop
